I have the best Aunt and Uncle in the entire world.
You could TRY to say that your own aunt and uncle are the best, but those words would simply not be true.
Aunt Sandy picked us up at the airport and brought us home. Uncle Norm was waiting to embrace us and ask us if we were all right, also to express his sorrow that Boyd was gone. After he was assured that we were OK, the teasing could begin.
"Tyler got his degree? What's it in; 'Chasing Women'?"
"No, not that."
"Are you sure? He caught one, didn't he? Glenna are you going to go to college?"
"I sure hope so, Uncle!"
"What are you going to study; 'Boy Chasing'?" =)
They took us to dinner and then tucked us in bed. Because of the time difference, Glenna was able to see something she hasn't seen in a long time . . .
. . . 6:30 A.M.
Why two televisions? I don't rightly know. What I do know is that Aunt Sandy doesn't throw anything away.
Glenna took photos of the things she loves and remembers from the house:
No more kisses 'cause you slobbers!
Uncle filled the car with fuel, put money and the AAA card in the console, and added a cooler full of drinks and snacks for our journey. Aunt Sandy showed me where all the safety gear was and where she kept her sunglasses and flashlight.
And we're off!
It took me about a hour to figure out how to move the seat back.
Glenna took pictures outside the window as we zoomed past. Alfalfa fields were all green this time of year.
Nothing to interrupt the view for miles and miles.
My beloved rocks!
Have a V-8?
Glenna associates memories with socks. This is her 2012 pair bought at the Walmart in Socorro.
We didn't realize there was a cross on the side of the hill until we looked at this later:
Five hours later, Mom's town!
I have never actually lived in New Mexico, but it's home. Hugged my Mom and my brother forever.
