Trying Again in Twenty-Ten

I've been blessed to find a friend willing to walk in the mornings, a few days per week. Since she's my senior by more than 10 years, I figured I wouldn't have a problem keeping up with her. I was wrong.

That woman could pull a skier behind her.

This week, she cheerfully handed me a set of hand weights. Today, I feel the effects.

You know, I think people would enjoy exercise more if it weren't so strenuous and painful!

Don't tell me it wouldn't be strenuous and painful if I did it more often, because I'm not listening.

I'm pleading Romans chapter 7 on this one:

For I do not understand what I am doing, because I do not practice what I want to do, but I do what I hate. . .

. . . For the desire to do what is good is with me, but there is no ability to do it.

For I do not do the good that I want to do, but I practice the evil that I do not want to do. . . .

What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death?

I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord!

Twenty-Ten . . . the year of murdering all excuses and simply getting to work.

Sounds like something my piano teacher would say.
In fact, just this morning he said, "Wow, that's a great excuse. Do you have another one like it?"
