Look it Up!

First of all, may I just say that I love my washer and dryer? We bought our old set used and they lasted for 8 years. I began to notice that our clothing didn't smell clean, that it took 3x as long to dry, and then finally, the dryer just quit altogether.

We made the investment in front loading machines. If you don't have one, get one.

What used to take all day now only takes all morning. What used to be 5 loads of laundry (for Himself and me) is now only two loads. What used to be 40 gallons of water per load is now, I believe, only 15! (Ok, I don't know the exact statistics on that last one, but I know it's amazing.)

Amazing is the word I use instead of awesome. It was hard for this Southern California gal to do, but I'm understanding how only God and His attributes are truly awesome, if you look up the definition of the word.

Speaking of looking up definitions:

Glenna, from the couch: Mom, what does "diadem" mean?

Mom: It's . . . wait a minute. Is this a word you're supposed to be looking up yourself?

Glenna: It says you may have to look it up.

Mom: There's no may about it. Look it up.

Smarty Farty Glenna: Ok, I am looking up at you and I'm asking. What's the definition of "diadem?"

I should have seen that one coming.

Oh, I am jealous. We had hoped to invest the $$ from the sale of our home in buying those (*snicker*) so I left my old ones in our house in FL.

When we arrived here, we had no W&D OR the cash to purchase new ones. god is good though, and though I didn't get the front loaders I covet and drool over on the showroom floor, I did get a set newer than the ones I left in FL. And God gave them to me for free!

But have you ever heard, "After you tell me I'll look it up to see if you're right." ;)

Actually, NO! Jess, that would take too much work. They take my word on everything! It's a heavy responsibility, I tell you.

That's why I tell them to look it up if it's one of those words where I get the meaning but don't know the exact definition. Like diadem!

Phyllis, how great for Abba to give you the washer and dryer! He only does stuff like that for me on birthdays, holidays, and any day. ;-)
